A Reverie in Herfstwinter's Nights
2025
spatial and sound installation
Maybe thirteen, maybe sixteen, or more walks took place after dark. The number of visits became fuzzy, so did the silhouettes of the landscape, and the felt bodily limits of the wanderer.
Automatic paintings and field recordings were gathered along the nocturnal roams. Footsteps, bird dialogues, wind and distant city sounds formed a sporadic yet vivid symphony unfolding beyond what can be seen.
Reassembled as an open-air installation and soundscape, these fragments of memory tell how darkness alters our sense of boundary and durée, and how it brings together imaginative realms alongside other earthly temporalities.
